Assume that you have three lists in three different columns and if you want to put all three columns data into a single column, How to do that ?
In this article i am going to tell you how to put two, three or multiple columns data into a single column.
Let’s start ,
I have three lists of students in columns : A, B, C with range - A2:A
, B2:B
, C2:C
. There are multiple empty or null cells in this range. Now I want to put these columns data in Column E without having empty cells.
1. Enter this formula in Cell E2 :
={A2:A;B2:B;C2:C}
This formula returns all three columns data also with empty cells OR #REF! Error .
2. Now edit this formula with this one :
=FILTER({A2:A;B2:B;C2:C},LEN({A2:A;B2:B;C2:C}))
3.Now this formula removes all the empty cells of merged columns and returns only the values of the rangs .
Actually this formula filtering our range and removing all the cells where there is no length of a cell.
Note: Now you can add or remove names from all lists and this will not affect your formula in E2. It automatically refreshes when you update any of your list.
